Wild Rice with Cranberries and Oranges

Complexity: easy Servings: 4 The recipes use volumetric containers with a volume of: 1 glass (st.) – 240 ml. 3/4 cup (st.) – 180 ml. 1/2 cup (Art.) – 120 ml. 1/3 cup (st.) – 80 ml. 1/4 cup (st.) – 60 ml 1 tablespoon (tbsp.) – 15 ml. 1 teaspoon (tsp) – 5 ml

Ingredients for the recipe:

  • 1/2 tbsp. dried cranberries
  • 1 and 1/4 Art. water
  • 1 tbsp. fresh orange juice
  • 1 tbsp. l (15 gr.) Unsalted butter
  • 1 (230 gr.) Packet of a mixture of long-grain white and wild rice (recommended: Uncle Ben’s)
  • Zest of one orange
  • 1/2 tbsp. chopped almonds

Recipe preparation:

  1. Place the cranberries in a medium bowl and pour enough amount of hot water to cover the berries. Leave to soak while you make rice
  2. Pour 1 and 1/4 tbsp into a medium saucepan. water, orange juice and add butter, bring to a boil. Add rice together with the contents of the seasoning bag and bring to a boil again. Reduce heat to low, cover and simmer until until rice is soft, about 20-25 minutes.
  3. Drain the cranberries and add the berries to the rice along with orange zest and almonds. Mix gently while loosening fig. Transfer rice to a serving platter, cover and hold warm until served.
