Turkey meatballs with sauce in Italian

  • 450 gr minced turkey
  • 450 gr spicy sausages for roasting minced turkey with italian herbs, without shells
  • 1 tbsp. breadcrumbs
  • 1/2 tbsp. finely grated Parmesan cheese and a little more for filing
  • 1/4 Art. chopped basil
  • 1/4 Art. chopped parsley
  • 1/4 Art. whole milk at room temperature
  • 1 tbsp. l ketchup
  • 1 tbsp. l tomato paste
  • 3/4 tsp coarse salt
  • 1/2 tsp ground black pepper
  • 2 large eggs at room temperature
  • 2 minced garlic cloves
  • 1 finely chopped small onion
  • Olive oil for spraying

Tomato sauce

  • 1/4 Art. olive oil
  • 3 peeled and crushed large cloves of garlic
  • 1 chopped large onion
  • 1 tsp coarse salt
  • 1/2 tsp ground black pepper
  • 3/4 Art. chopped basil
  • 2 tsp finely chopped fennel seeds
  • 2 tsp dried oregano
  • 2 cans (total 1500 g.) Canned frayed tomato
  • 1/2 tbsp. unsalted chicken stock

Recipe preparation:

  1. Cook the meatballs: mix in a large bowl breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, basil, parsley, milk, ketchup, if used, tomato paste, salt, pepper, eggs, garlic and onions. Using a wooden spoon, mix until smooth. Add ground turkey meat and sausage meat. Neat and thorough mix all the ingredients with your hands until smooth.
  2. Preheat the oven to 200 ⁰C. Using a 30 gram spoon to cookies or a small spoon for ice cream, form from meat mix balls with a diameter of 3 cm. You will get 22-24 meatballs. Lay them, a short distance apart, on a large non-stick pan. Drizzle with olive oil and bake in for 15 minutes, until ready.
  3. Make Tomato Sauce: Heat over medium heat. olive oil in a large deep pan with 5 high sides see Add garlic, onion, salt and pepper. Cook for 5-6 minutes.   4. Put the meatballs in tomato sauce and simmer for 10 minutes., until they warm up. Dilute the sauce 1/4 tbsp. chicken broth Sprinkle with grated Parmesan cheese before serving.
