Recipe preparation:

  1. In a medium-sized bowl, mix cabbage, apple salad vinegar, 0.5 tsp salt and a little ground black pepper. Cover plastic wrap and refrigerate until ready to serving.
  2. In a large bowl, mix jackfruit with chili powder and 0.5 hours each. l salt and pepper. In a large frying pan over moderate heat heat 2 tbsp. l vegetable oil. Add jackfruit and fry stirring occasionally until the flavor of spices goes, 2-3 minutes.
  3. Add barbecue sauce to the pan along with 3 tbsp. water, mix, cover and reduce heat to a minimum. Put out stirring occasionally, until tender, 45-50 minutes. Then take off lid, increase heat to high and simmer until sauce darkens and does not thicken, 4-5 minutes. Remove from the stove.
  4. Using a masher for a mashed potato or a wooden spoon knead the jackfruit so that it turns out to be a consistency resembling torn pork. Salt, pepper and add as desired brown sugar if you like sweeter. Serve on potato buns with cabbage salad.
