Ingredients for the recipe:

  • 450 gr very thinly sliced beef flank steak
  • 3 tbsp. l vegetable or canola oil
  • 4 minced cloves of garlic
  • 2 – 3 peeled and thinly sliced Thai peppers chili (e.g. prik ki well) or chili serrano
  • 3 thinly chopped shallots
  • 1 sliced 0.3 cm thick. Red Bulgarian pepper
  • 1/4 Art. fish sauce
  • 2 tbsp. l sweet soy sauce
  • 2 tbsp. l black soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp. l chili pasta in soybean oil
  • 1.5 tbsp. chopped leaves of fresh Thai basil (or ordinary basil)
  • 1 tbsp. whole fresh mint leaves
  • White rice for serving

Recipe preparation:

  1. In a large frying pan over medium heat, heat oil. Put the garlic and chili peppers and sauté until aromatic, about 30 sec Add meat and cook, stirring frequently, for 2 minutes. Put shallots and bell peppers and cook for a minute.
  2. Add fish sauce, sweet soy sauce, black soy sauce and chili paste. Bring the mixture to a boil and cook, often stirring until meat is tender and vegetables are soft, about 3 min. Remove the pan from the heat and add basil and mint so that they become soft. Serve with rice. If you cannot find sweet and black soy sauce, take 1/4 tbsp. regular soy sauce and mix with 1/4 tbsp. honey or sugar.
