Souvlaki – a popular Greek fast food in the form of cooked on grilled pieces of meat on skewers. So this dish is called in Macedonia and other regions in northern Greece. Ingredients for the recipe:
- 900 gr. boneless lamb legs, cut connecting films and cut the meat with pieces of 4 – 5 cm.
- 2 shallots, chopped
- 2 garlic cloves, minced
- 1 jalapeno pepper, take out the seeds and chop
- 2 tbsp. l chopped oregano, still optional for sprinkles
- Juice 1 Lemon
- 1/2 tbsp. olive oil
- 1 tbsp. flavoring-free yogurt

Recipe preparation:
- Mix in a 4 L sealed bag. shallots, garlic, jalapenos, oregano, lemon juice, olive oil and a pinch of salt. Add the lamb meat, rotate the packet, so that it is covered with marinade, and put in the refrigerator at least at least 3 hours, but preferably at night.
- Light the charcoal grill to a moderate to high temperature (at when using wooden skewers, soak 12–16 of them in water, do not less than 20 minutes).
- Remove the lamb from the marinade and string 2 pieces per every skewer. Season with salt and pepper. Cook on the hottest parts of the grill for 2 minutes on each side, then move to a less hot half.
