  • 2 tbsp. l extra virgin olive oil
  • 3 sweet peppers of different colors, sliced in thin strips
  • 1 fennel head, peeled and finely chopped
  • 1 large onion, chopped
  • Coarse salt
  • 3 minced cloves of garlic
  • 1 tsp chopped fresh rosemary
  • 1/2 tsp dried pepper flakes
  • 1/2 tsp fennel seed (optional)
  • 420 gr. canned tomato without added salt, diced
  • 12 chopped basil leaves and a little more to sprinkle

Recipe preparation:

  1. Preheat the grill. Paste sausages with a fork over the entire surface, put on a baking sheet and bake for about 8 minutes until golden colors. Remember to flip them when they are half ready. Put on a cutting board and cut into diagonals.
  2. Meanwhile, heat in a large frying pan on a moderately strong fire olive oil. Add bell peppers, fennel and onions and cook, stirring, 3 minutes, until the vegetables are slightly soft. Add 1/2 tsp. salts, garlic, rosemary, pepper flakes and seeds fennel. Cook, stirring, for another 1 minute.
  3. Add 1/2 tbsp. water, tomatoes and basil, mix. the fire reduce to medium, cover and cook for another 5 minutes, until vegetables do not soften completely. Remove the cover, add sausages and cook another 3-4 minutes. (Add some water if the sauce will become too thick). Sprinkle with basil.
