Forshmak is a delicious dish of traditional Jewish cuisine. Getting ready at home like a cold appetizer of cask herring. Also included in the recipe eggs, potatoes, apples (sour varieties). To make the right Forshmak, herring must be held in milk for at least 3 hours.

  1. Peel the barrel herring, remove the seeds. Soak in milk 3 hours.
  2. Chop onions finely and fry in a large pan the amount of butter.
  3. Hard boiled eggs. Cool. Grate.
  4. Boil potatoes in their skins. To clear.
  5. Wash the apples. Peel and core. Grate on coarse grater.
  6. Grind herring with a knife into minced meat. Add onions, eggs, and apples potatoes. Spice up. Add a little vinegar or lemon juice. Mix well until smooth. Real foreshmak
