Recipe preparation:
- Preheat the oven to 190C.
- Put butter and onions in a large frying pan and place to medium heat. Stew until onion begins to soften, 3-4 min. Sprinkle the onion with flour and mix. Keep frying the onion mixture and flour until golden brown, about 2 minutes. Pour in cream, milk and mix, let the mixture thicken: it will take 3-4 minutes. Add a little pepper, mix the sauce, reduce heat and keep in warmer.
- Use a vegetable slicer or a very sharp knife to chop the potatoes circles as thin as possible. Lubricate the mold liberally with butter. for 2 l baking, put half the chopped potatoes and half sliced ham. Sprinkle with half the cheese and pour pan sauce. Repeat the same with the remaining ingredients, ending with a layer of cheese and sauce. Sprinkle on top pepper.
- Cover the pan with foil and bake for 40 minutes, then remove bake foil and until the cheese is lightly browned and the sauce boils, still 20-30 minutes Sprinkle the dish with chopped parsley and serve.
