  1. Thoroughly wash the pork shanks, put in a large fill the pan with water to completely cover the pork, add chopped onion (1 pc.), carrots, ground pepper, salt and cook after boiling over low heat for 2 hours. Optionally instead salt, you can add meat broth (1 pc.).

  2. We take ready shanks out of the broth along with vegetables, put them out sauerkraut in a saucepan and simmer for 30-35 minutes until it becomes soft.

  3. Melt butter, fry chopped in it onions (1 pc.) until soft, pour the flour, alter and add the mixture to the stewed cabbage.

  4. Separate the meat from the knuckles from the bones, cut into large pieces, put into stewed cabbage and cook another 10 minutes. Spread on plates fragrant stewed cabbage, add the meat of the knuckle, boiled potatoes and serve with fresh crispy bread.
