Difficulty: easy Servings: 4 In the recipes volumetric containers are used in volume: 1 cup (tbsp.) – 240 ml. 3/4 cups (st.) – 180 ml. 1/2 cup (tbsp.) – 120 ml. 1/3 cup (Art.) – 80 ml. 1/4 cup (st.) – 60 ml. 1 tablespoon (tbsp) – 15 ml. 1 teaspoon (tsp) – 5 ml.

Ingredients for the recipe:

  • 3/4 Art. steamed white rice
  • 450 gr canned fried tomato slices
  • 450 gr canned red beans, drain and Rinse
  • 250 gr grilled chicken meat
  • 2 tbsp. l olive oil as well as more for spraying
  • 200 gr. smoked sausage, sliced
  • 2 stalks of celery, chopped, plus leaves for decoration
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 1 green bell pepper, chopped
  • 2 tbsp. l tomato paste
  • 1 tsp kajun seasoning

Recipe preparation:

  1. Heat 2 tbsp. l olive oil in a large pan on moderately high fire. Add sausage and fry, periodically stirring until brown, about 3 minutes. Add celery, onion and bell pepper, season with salt and fry, periodically stirring until vegetables soften, 3 to 5 minutes. Add tomato paste and kajun seasoning and cook, periodically stirring for about 1 min. Add rice and cook another 1 min.
  2. Add slices of tomatoes and 5 tbsp. water into the pan. Increase temperature and bring to a boil. Reduce the fire, cover cover and simmer until the rice is soft and the sauce thickens, from 10 to 15 min. Put the beans and chicken in a pan and heat, about 1 minute. Put celery leaves on top of each serving and drizzle with olive oil.
