Grilled Shrimp Sandwich

Instead of frying shrimp in a pan for a traditional sandwich “Po-Boy”, cook them on the grill, previously marinated in garlic marinade and mixed after frying in cream sauce. This simple sandwich recipe from the Neely family makes them even tastier. Patrick and Gina recommend stringing shrimp skewers so that they are better prepared on решетке гриля. Sandwiches

  • Bamboo skewers soaked in water for 30 minutes.
  • 700 gr. large peeled shrimp
  • 2/3 Art. olive oil
  • 4 cloves, peeled and crushed
  • 2 squeezed lemons
  • 2 tsp smoked paprika
  • 1 tsp cayenne pepper
  • 2 tbsp. l Worcester sauce
  • 2 tbsp. l hot sauce
  • Salt and freshly ground black pepper
  • 1 fresh baguette, cut into 2 pieces along
  • Creamy sauce, see recipe below
  • Mayonnaise with pickled vegetables, see recipe below
  • Shredded Lettuce, for serving
  • Sliced tomatoes

Cream sauce

  • 60 gr salted butter
  • 0.5 squeezed lemon
  • 1 tbsp. l hot sauce
  • A bit of Worcester sauce

Mayonnaise with pickled vegetables

  • 3/4 Art. mayonnaise
  • 2 tbsp. l sweet pickled vegetables
  • 1 chopped shallot
  • 1 tbsp. l Dijon mustard
  • 1 tbsp. l crushed capers
  • A little hot sauce
  • Salt and freshly ground black pepper

Recipe preparation:

  1. String 4 shrimps on a skewer and lay them in shape for baking (33 x 22 cm). Culinary advice Do not lay out the skewers are too close together. Leave a little in between places to fry evenly.
  2. Pour olive oil into a measuring cup, add the garlic, lemon juice, smoked paprika, cayenne pepper, Worcester and spicy sauces, salt and pepper to taste. Stir the mixture and pour it in shape on top of the shrimp. Cover the form, then send the shrimp marinate in the refrigerator for 20 minutes.
  3. Heat the grill to a moderate heat.
  4. Grill the shrimp for 4 minutes, turning in mid cooking. Put the baguette on the grill and fry.
  5. Remove the prawns from the grill and transfer them to a creamy sauce, removing meat from skewers. Stir the shrimp in the sauce so that it completely covered.
  6. Cover the baguette with mayonnaise sauce, spread in an even layer shrimp, then put lettuce and chopped tomatoes. Cut baguette in four pieces and serve sandwiches warm to the table.
  7. Cream sauce

    Melt the butter in a small skillet on the grill. Add lemon juice, spicy and Worcester sauces. Shuffle ingredients with a wooden spoon. Remove mixture from heat and set aside. side.

  8. Mayonnaise with pickled vegetables

    Add all ingredients to a bowl and mix thoroughly. Send in the refrigerator, after covering the sauce.
