Chicken breasts are rubbed with a mixture of spices, grilled and served with an unusual side dish in the form of an opened whole tuber sweet potato and with strawberry salsa. Sweet potato is also grilled, but first it should be baked in the microwave to faster to cook. Each finished tuber is cut before serving, and the flesh is loosened with a fork along with olive oil, green onions and fresh cilantro. Sweet taste of sweet potato and spicy juicy chicken interesting to complement the sweet-burning salsa, in which traditional Tomatoes replaced with strawberries. Ingredients for the recipe:
- 3 chicken breasts without skin and bones (approximately 200 gr. each)
- 4 small sweet potato tubers
- 2 tbsp. l olive oil + extra to grease grill
- 1 tsp Ancho Chili Powder
- 0.5 tsp ground zira
- 8 strawberries, finely chopped
- 1 yellow bell pepper, finely chopped
- 1 jalapeno pod, finely chopped (leave some seeds for greater severity)
- 2 chopped green onions
- 0.5 tbsp. chopped fresh cilantro
- 1 lime juice + serving wedges

Recipe preparation:
- Preheat the grill to moderate heat. Bake yam in microwave until it is soft, 7-9 minutes. Give cool slightly, then grease 1 tsp. olive oil; sprinkle salt and black pepper. Meanwhile, mix the chicken with 1 tbsp. l olive oil, chili powder, zira and a large pinch of salt and black pepper.
- Make salsa: mix in a medium sized bowl strawberries, sweet peppers, jalapenos and half onion and cilantro. Add lime juice, salt and pepper. Mix well and set aside the berries to let juice in.
- Oil the grill and place the sweet potato and chicken. Fry under the lid, turning until the yam is soft and fried, but the chicken is not baked, 15 minutes for sweet potato and 16-20 minutes for the chicken.
- Cut the yam tubers lengthwise and open them. Sprinkle the remaining 2 tsp olive oil, sprinkle with remaining green onion and cilantro, salt and pepper, loosen with a fork. Serve sweet potato chicken; put strawberry salsa on chicken and slices of lime.
