  • 1 challah (butter loaf), cut into slices 2.5 thick cm.
  • 4 dates, remove seeds, chop flesh
  • 6 egg yolks
  • 1.5 tbsp. milk
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/4 Art. freshly squeezed orange juice
  • 1 tsp grated orange peel
  • 2 tbsp. l brown sugar
  • 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp garam masala
  • Butter, for frying
  • A handful of semi-sweet chocolate chips or dark chocolate

For syrup:

  • 1/2 tbsp. maple syrup
  • 1 tsp bourbon

Recipe preparation:

  1. Prepare a lezon for French toasts: mix in a bowl of egg yolks, milk, vanilla, orange juice and zest, brown sugar, cinnamon, garam masala and a pinch of salt, beat with using a whisk until smooth.
