Elote: Mexican Corn

Corn on a stick, or elote (Spanish. Elote – corn), – A popular snack on the streets of Mexico. Moreover, corn is not served just with salt, and cooked with a special local flavor. Corn cobs are grilled and covered with mayonnaise, cheese, chili and sprinkled with lime juice. Such a corn will be a great picnic treat. Complexity: easy Servings: 4 The recipes use volumetric containers with a volume of: 1 glass (st.) – 240 ml. 3/4 cup (st.) – 180 ml. 1/2 cup (Art.) – 120 ml. 1/3 cup (st.) – 80 ml. 1/4 cup (st.) – 60 ml 1 tablespoon (tbsp.) – 15 ml. 1 teaspoon (tsp) – 5 ml

Ingredients for the recipe:

  • 4 ears of corn peeled
  • Vegetable oil to grease
  • 1/4 Art. mayonnaise
  • 0.5 tbsp. crumbled kotiha cheese
  • Spice mix with anchovy to sprinkle
  • Lime wedges for serving

Recipe preparation:

  1. Soak 4 wooden skewers in water for 30 minutes. Preheat grill until very hot.
  2. Insert a skewer into each ear of corn. Grease the corn vegetable oil. Fry, turning until the cobs fried on all sides, 8-10 minutes.
  3. Grease the popcorn with mayonnaise and sprinkle with cheese. Sprinkle mix spices with anchovy and serve with lime wedges.
