Crispy Crab Cakes

Fried crab patties – a perfect combination of crispy crust and juicy tender pulp with a delicate aroma and taste of crab, which is superbly complemented with fried bell pepper and mixture spices. Breadcrumbs and an egg hold all the ingredients together among themselves, but to make cutlets easier to shape and they do not fell apart during frying, pre-cool well stuffing. Ingredients for the recipe:

  • 1 tbsp. l + 2 tsp olive oil
  • 2 green onions, finely chopped
  • 0.5 tbsp. finely chopped red bell pepper
  • 1 tbsp. panko breadcrumbs
  • 1 large egg, slightly beaten
  • 2 tbsp. l nonfat milk
  • 1 tsp Worcester sauce
  • 2 tsp Dijon mustard
  • 1 tbsp. l freshly squeezed lemon juice + lemon wedges for filing
  • 0.5 tsp seasoning old bay
  • A little hot sauce
  • 450 gr lumpy crab meat or claw meat, sort through

Recipe preparation:

  1. In a large skillet with a non-stick coating on moderately over high heat, heat 2 tsp. olive oil. Add shallots and bell peppers and fry until vegetables begin to soften, about 2 minutes. Cool a little. In a small bowl, mix 0.5 tbsp. breadcrumbs, egg and milk. In a medium bowl mix Worcester sauce, mustard, lemon juice, Old Bay seasoning and spicy sauce; stir in crab meat, mix from panko, mix from fried pepper and onions, 1/4 tsp salt and a pinch of black pepper. Form 8 cutlets and put them in the refrigerator for 30 minutes. Roll the crab cutlets in the remaining 0.5 tbsp. breading crackers. In a frying pan over medium heat, heat the remaining 1 Art. l olive oil. Sprinkle crab cutlets with culinary spray and fry, sprinkled side down, 3-4 minutes. Sprinkle top with a culinary spray, turn over and fry for another 3-4 minutes. Serve with lemon wedges.
