Chinese Chicken Breasts on Leaves lettuce

Ingredients for the recipe:

  • 2 tbsp. (or 4 handfuls) of fresh mushrooms – shiitake
  • 500-700 g. Thinly chopped chicken breast or filet
  • 2 tbsp. l vegetable or peanut butter
  • Coarse salt and black pepper
  • 3 cloves of chopped garlic
  • A couple of centimeters of finely chopped or grated root ginger
  • 1 zest of orange
  • Half a red bell pepper – it should be chopped small cubes
  • 150-200 g. Pickled chestnuts (drain and cut water slices)
  • 3 feathers of green onions
  • 3 tbsp. l Hoisin sauce (special Chinese sauce for B-B-Q)
  • Half a large head of iceberg lettuce, cut into four parts and core
  • Orange slices for serving

Recipe preparation:

  1. First of all, cut the hard legs of the mushrooms and cut slices. Cut the chicken into small pieces.
  2. After that, heat a large pan, or wok, and add oil there. When the oil heats well, put the chicken in pan and, stirring constantly, fry for two minutes.
  3. Add mushrooms to the pan and cook for a couple more minutes. Sprinkle salt and pepper to taste, and also put ginger with garlic. Leave to fry for two to three minutes. For piquancy, put slices of red pepper, pickled chestnuts, zest and green onions. Continue to cook, the resulting mixture, stirring constantly. After Pour in Hoisin Sauce evenly.
  4. Serve chicken with vegetables on a plate with lettuce and slices of orange. The dish should be consumed as follows: on put lettuce leaves one tablespoon of the filling, top squeeze the juice from the orange slices. Bon appetit!
