Chicken with dumplings is a homemade rich soup with vegetables, spicy herbs, chicken breast and tender slices of dough. Such a dish ideal for the cold season, nourishes and warms, and most importantly, both adults and children like it. Vegetables first fried in oil, and then filled with broth and boiled until readiness. This soup combines pumpkin, celery and onions. Closer to the end, add the fried chicken green peas and slices of dough mixed in butter and milk. Serve a thick and rich soup, sprinkled with fresh dill. Ingredients for the recipe:
- 450 gr skinless chicken breasts and bones, cut into pieces 2.5 cm each.
- 1 tbsp. l olive oil
- 1 pack of 0.5 kg. peeled and diced nutmeg pumpkins
- 4 stalks of celery, finely chopped
- 1 medium onion, finely chopped
- 2 tbsp. low salt chicken stock
- 2 branches of dill + 2 tbsp. l chopped dill
- 0.5 tbsp. whole wheat flour
- 1 tsp soda
- 1 tbsp. l chopped cold butter
- 1/4 Art. milk fat content of 1%
- 1 tbsp. frozen peas, thaw

Recipe preparation:
- In a large saucepan over moderate heat, heat the olive butter. Sprinkle 1/4 tsp chicken. salt, pepper and put in heated oil. Stir fry until chicken is gone pink outside, but not yet fried, about 2 minutes. Shift slotted spoon in a bowl, leaving butter in a pan.
- Stir in pumpkin, celery and onions and fry, stirring until onions will not become soft, about 5 minutes. Add the broth, sprigs of dill and 3 tbsp. water. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat to maintaining a boil. Stew until the pumpkin is easy pierced with a knife, about 15 minutes.
- Meanwhile, in a small bowl, mix the flour, soda, 1/4 tsp. salt and 1/8 tsp pepper. Using your fingers, add the butter to the flour. mixture to form large crumbs. Stir in the milk and knead dough.
- Stir in the chicken and peas and bring to a boil. Throw the dough into a boiling broth for 1 tsp. at equal distance to get 16 dumplings. Cover and simmer on medium low heat for 5 minutes. Then remove the lid and cook when boil until dumpling is ready, about 3 minutes. Throw away sprigs of dill. Sprinkle chopped dill on top and serve.
