Caribbean burger

A huge juicy burger is prepared from a thick beef cutlet with a large portion of jerk vegetables stewed in Caribbean sauce. Carrot, zucchini and bell peppers are chopped with the same size chopsticks and fried in olive oil and then stewed until tender in Jerk Sauce. The sauce can be prepared in advance and stored in in the refrigerator, it will become even tastier when infused and all of it flavors are mixed. For the meat cutlets themselves, ground beef is not necessary no additional ingredients except salt and black pepper. Grill them, charcoal grill flavor is the best seasoning for a caribbean burger.

Ingredients for the recipe:

Jerk Sauce

  • 0.5 tbsp. freshly squeezed lemon juice (from 2-3 lemons)
  • 1/3 Art. olive oil
  • 1/3 Art. purchased jerk sauce
  • 2 tbsp. l kajun seasoning
  • 1-2 tbsp. l red pepper flakes
  • 1 small red bell pepper, chopped
  • 1 large jalapeno pod, peeled and finely chopped sliced
  • 3 cloves, minced garlic

Vegetables

  • 2 tbsp. l olive oil
  • 2 carrots, chopped with 7 cm sticks.
  • 1 medium zucchini, chopped with chopsticks of 7 cm.
  • 1 small red bell pepper, chopped in chopsticks, each 7 cm.

Cutlets

  • Rapeseed oil to grease the grill
  • 1 kg. ground beef
  • 4 buns with sesame seeds for burgers, cut horizontally in half

Recipe preparation:

  1. Make Jerk Sauce:

    Mix in a bowl lemon juice, olive oil, purchased sauce jerk, kajun seasoning and red pepper flakes. Add bell pepper, jalapenos and garlic, cover and place on night in the fridge.

  2. Cook the vegetables:

    Heat a large frying pan over medium heat and add olive oil. butter. Add carrots, zucchini and bell peppers, salt and fry, stirring occasionally until vegetables are slightly softened, about 5 minutes. Add 1/4 tbsp. ready jerk sauce and fry until vegetables are not covered with glaze, another 1-2 minutes. Remove from heat and cover to prevent vegetables from cooling.

  3. Grill meatballs:

    Preheat the grill to moderate heat and grease the grills rapeseed oil. Form four cutlets from ground beef 2 cm thick and generously sprinkle them with salt and black pepper. Fry grilled for about 4 minutes on each side for medium roasting. Meanwhile, lightly grill the buns.

  4. Serve the burgers on the buns, putting the stews on top vegetables.
