Spelled is a type of wheat that is rarely undeservedly used in the daily diet of many people. But from her it’s just amazing side dishes. Boiled grains spelts get a nice elastic texture and warm walnut smack. It is harmoniously complemented by kajun seasoning. Boil it spelled in advance, and then mix in a pan with fried vegetables, seasoning and Canadian bacon. Unlike usual it contains less fat and looks more like ham. Ingredients for the recipe:
- 3/4 Art. whole spelled
- 2 tbsp. l olive oil
- 1 small green bell pepper, sliced into thin strips 2.5 cm each.
- 4 feathers of green onions, cut into pieces of 1 cm., White parts apart from green
- 2 stalks of celery, thinly sliced
- 60 gr ready-made Canadian bacon, chopped into pieces of 1 cm.
- 2 garlic cloves, finely chopped
- 0.5 tsp kajun seasoning
- 1 tbsp. cut cherry tomatoes in half

Recipe preparation:
- In a medium-sized pan, mix spelled with 1.5 tbsp. water. Bring to a boil, reduce heat to moderately weak, cover lid and cook at a slow boil until most of the water absorbed, and the grains will not become soft, but still elastic, about 30 minutes. Remove from heat and let stand under the lid for 10 minutes. Then cool the spelled completely (it can be boiled for a day earlier).
- In a large skillet with a non-stick coating on moderately Heat olive oil over high heat. Add bell peppers, white onions, celery and canadian bacon and fry, often stirring until the vegetables are crispy soft and the bacon should lightly brown for about 4 minutes.
- Add garlic and kajun seasoning and cook, stirring, in within 1 minute. Add spelled, tomatoes, onion and 0.5 hours. l salt and cook, stirring, until spelled and tomatoes warm up, about 2 minutes. Transfer to a serving platter and serve hot.
