Ingredients for the recipe:

  • 1 can (400 gr.) Salt-free tomato sauce
  • 1 can (450 g) canned chickpeas, drain the liquid and rinse under water
  • 1 small bell pepper, cut into thin slices
  • 1/3 Art. dried apricots cut in half
  • 2 cloves of garlic, crush
  • 1/4 tsp seasoning with garam masala or ground cinnamon, as well as more for sprinkling
  • A large pinch of red pepper flakes
  • Coarse salt
  • 4 skinless chicken breast fillets (weighing 180 g each)
  • 1/4 Art. low calorie natural yogurt (2% fat content)
  • Sliced fresh parsley, for sprinkling (optional)
  • 3 whole wheat flour pits, cut into four parts

Recipe preparation:

  1. Mix tomato sauce in a large pan, 1 tbsp. water, chickpeas, sweet pepper, dried apricots, garlic, garam masalu, pepper flakes and 1/2 tsp salts; bring to a boil at moderate heat. Submerge the chicken breasts in the tomato mixture and simmer if weak boiling without covering, turning in the middle of cooking, about 20 minutes, until ready.
  2. Arrange chicken breasts with chickpeas and tomato mixture in plates, put a spoonful of yogurt on top and sprinkle with parsley and seasoning garam masala. Serve with chopped pita.
