Beer Braised Chicken

This method of cooking chicken came to us from Europe. Dark beer gives tender chicken a little piquancy that, in fact, is the highlight of this stew. Ingredients for the recipe:

  • 100 g bacon or pork belly, cut into slices of size 1 cm
  • 8 chicken thighs without skin and bones (about 1100 g.)
  • Flour for sprinkling
  • 1 tbsp. l olive oil
  • 1 bottle of beer with a volume of 330 ml. (preferably dark)
  • 1 tbsp. thawed pearl onions (onion sets)
  • 250 g young potatoes, cut into halves
  • 2 tbsp. l whole grain mustard
  • 2 tbsp. l brown sugar
  • 4 sprigs of thyme
  • 3 tbsp. l chopped parsley

Recipe preparation:

  1. Heat a large pot with a thick bottom over high heat. Put the pork belly in it and fry it for 5 minutes. before the appearance of a golden crust. Use a slotted spoon to shift the bacon on a plate covered with a napkin. Salt the chicken thighs, pepper, then roll in flour, shake off excess. To bacon fat in a pan add olive oil. Put chicken meat one at a time and fry it on high fire for 6-7 minutes. until a golden crust appears, then turn over and fry on the other side for a minute.
  2. Pour beer into the pan, add onions, potatoes, mustard, sugar, thyme, 1 tbsp. water and mix thoroughly so that the chicken properly covered with sauce. Simmer about 15 мин. until the chicken is completely cooked. Get thyme, add bacon and parsley.
