Barbecue Donuts

Imagine a barbecue – and only from sweets! Organizing a picnic or outdoor party, you can cook a simple and spectacular themed dessert in the form of donuts – American donuts with a hole in the middle, decorated with an edible grill of various sweets. Following the instructions in the recipe, put on donuts candy fire, chocolate grill and place on it tiny kebabs, sausages, burgers and fish made from sweets and marmalade. The cakes are so elaborate that your guests will look at them with delight for a long time, and then enjoy their interesting flavors with a varied texture. Difficulty: easy Amount: 12 donuts In recipes volumetric containers are used in volume: 1 cup (tbsp.) – 240 ml. 3/4 cups (st.) – 180 ml. 1/2 cup (tbsp.) – 120 ml. 1/3 cup (Art.) – 80 ml. 1/4 cup (st.) – 60 ml. 1 tablespoon (tbsp) – 15 ml. 1 teaspoon (tsp) – 5 ml.

Ingredients for the recipe:

  • 12 chocolate donuts in chocolate glaze, 8 cm in diameter.
  • 1 tbsp. dark chocolate granules
  • 2 orange candies, e.g. Jolly Ranchers
  • 2 red candies
  • 2 yellow candy
  • 1 tbsp. mini marshmallow
  • 4 chocolate toffees, e.g. Tootsie Rolls
  • 12 square yellow sweets, such as Mini Starburst or Chiclets
  • 12 cylindrical red chewing sweets, e.g. Mike and Ike Red Rageous or Hot Tamales
  • Black food marker, optional
  • Red, green, yellow and orange marmalade bears (3 in each) PC. each color)
  • 6 marmalade fish, e.g. Swedish Fish
  • Special equipment: silicone mat for baking dish, black permanent marker, pastry bag with a small round nozzle, kitchen lighter, 6 toothpicks

Recipe preparation:

  1. Put parchment paper on a baking sheet and draw with a marker 12 circles with a diameter of 6 cm. Lay the silicone mat on top so that so you can see circles through it (or you can take a second piece of parchment paper).
  2. Make the grill: put the granules of chocolate in a small bowl for the microwave. Heat at 50% power with 30 second intervals, stirring between heat until the hot mass will not melt the remaining pieces to the end. Let it cool a few minutes, then transfer to a pastry bag with a small round tip. Squeeze the chocolate along the contour of the drawn circles, and then extrude 5 parallel lines in each circle to they looked like grill grates. Refrigerate for 15 minutes for the chocolate to freeze.
  3. In the meantime, make coals: in a small bag with ziplock mix orange, red and yellow candies and large crush with a hammer. Insert into the hole of each donut marshmallow. Light them one at a time with a lighter to make marshmallows beautifully fried. Sprinkle with crushed candies in the form of smoldering coals.
  4. Make burgers: cut the chocolate toffee across across 3 parts (a total of 12 parts). Put them cut up in microwave and heat for 15 seconds to make the iris malleable. Glue a square yellow candy on top, it will be cheese, and hold it down. Make hot dogs: on cylindrical red with candies, draw transverse lines with an edible marker, simulating marks from the grill. Make vegetable skewers: put marmalade slices on toothpicks.
  5. Before serving: remove the chocolate grills from refrigerator and carefully remove them from the silicone mat. Put the grills on the coals, and lay the burgers on half the grills and hot dogs, and on the other half – kebabs and fish.
