Ingredients for the recipe:

  • 4 apples Granny Smith and 4 apples Golden Delicious (peel, remove the core and cut into slices 1-1.5 cm thick.)
  • 1 tbsp. natural direct-squeezed apple juice or juice from recovered apples
  • Juice 1 Lemon
  • 1/4 Art. light brown sugar
  • 2 cinnamon sticks
  • 1/4 tsp ground cinnamon
  • A little nutmeg

Recipe preparation:

  1. Put apples in a large stewpan, add apple juice, lemon juice, sugar, cinnamon sticks and a little nutmeg. Bring the mixture to a boil, cover, reduce heat. Cook for 15 minutes. with a slight boil until the apples soften. Take out cinnamon sticks and discard them. Mash apples with a potato masher and add 1/4 tsp. ground cinnamon and a little nutmeg. Transfer applesauce to a serving platter and serve warm.
