And secondly, you you can start the slow cooker in the morning and upon returning from work you will wait for a hot fresh dinner. Serve hot mitlof with vegetables. Ingredients for the recipe:

  • 1 kg. minced meat (a mixture of beef, veal and pork)
  • 1 tbsp. panko breadcrumbs
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 and 1/4 Art. ketchup
  • 2 tbsp. l Worcester sauce
  • 4 feathers of green onions, finely chopped
  • 2 tbsp. l chopped fresh parsley + extra for filing
  • 2 tsp chopped fresh thyme
  • 350 gr small finger potatoes, cut in half
  • 3 carrots, sliced 2.5 cm thick.
  • 1/4 Art. lightly salted chicken stock
  • 2 tbsp. l brown sugar

Recipe preparation:

  1. In a large bowl, mix the minced meat, breadcrumbs, eggs, 3/4 Art. ketchup, 1 tbsp. l Worcester sauce, chives, parsley, thyme, 1 tsp salt and a little pepper; stir meat with your hands, to evenly combine all the ingredients. Form a loaf 12 x 22 cm in size.
  2. Transfer mitlof to a 6 L slow-cooker. Above and around Mitlof lay out potatoes and carrots. Pour in chicken stock. Close the slow cooker and cook mitlof with minimal temperature for 8 hours or at maximum temperature in within 4 hours.
  3. When mitlof is ready, remove from the liquid in a slow cooker excess fat. In a small bowl, mix the remaining 0.5 tbsp. ketchup 1 tbsp. l Worcester sauce and brown sugar, then mix in 1/4 Art. liquids from a slow cooker. Lubricate mitlof with the resulting sauce. Close the slow cooker and let the meat rest for 10 minutes.
  4. Remove the mitlof from the slow cooker and cut it. Serve with vegetables, sprinkled with parsley.
