This casserole is perfect for a Sunday breakfast, which flows smoothly into lunch. It contains all the usual ingredients Breakfast: bread, sausage, egg, cheese. But they are only served in more interesting non-casual form. For cooking, take raw turkey sausages and peel them. Here you already have delicious minced meat, which remains to fry with onions and sweet pepper. Put the minced meat in a mold together with slices of bread and grated cheese, pour the egg and cream mixture and wait until the bread is saturated. Bake in the oven and serve a delicious casserole under a delicious сырной корочкой. Ingredients for the recipe:

  • 450 gr spicy Italian turkey sausage, shell take off
  • Butter, to lubricate the mold
  • 1 tbsp. l olive oil
  • 1 medium onion, finely chopped
  • 1 medium red bell pepper, peeled and finely chopped sliced
  • 1 loaf 450 gr. rustic french or italian bread sliced into cubes 2.5 cm thick.
  • 2 tbsp. grated gruyere (250 gr.)
  • 6 large eggs
  • 2 tbsp. whole milk
  • 1 tbsp. fat cream
  • 1.5 tbsp. l chopped fresh chives + optional for filing

Recipe preparation:

  1. Lubricate the 4-liter baking dish with butter.
  2. In a large skillet over medium heat, heat olive oil. Once it is hot, add the sausage, onion and sweet pepper. Fry, stirring, until the meat is cooked and crumbly, and onions and peppers will become soft, about 6 minutes.
  3. Put bread in the prepared baking dish. Intervene minced cheese with cheese, leaving some cheese for topping.
  4. In a medium-sized bowl, beat eggs, milk, cream, chives and some salt and pepper. Pour the mixture onto the bread and a little mix to evenly distribute. Sprinkle aside cheese. Cover with plastic wrap and leave to insist on 30 minutes.
  5. Remove the pan from the refrigerator and let it sit for 30 minutes to warm to room temperature. Meanwhile, preheat the oven up to 175 ° C.
  6. Bake until the top rises and turns golden crust, and a knife inserted in the middle will not come out clean, about 1 hours. Sprinkle with chopped green onions and serve.
