The story of this dessert, which was invented in the restaurant New Orleans, originates from 1951. At that time the city was a center for importing bananas from South America. The name of the dish was in honor of Richard Foster – friend of the owner of the Brennan restaurant. Taste banana and rum sauce form a successful tandem. - 2 unripe bananas cut in half along
- 2 tbsp. l (30 gr.) Butter
- 1/4 Art. (50 gr.) Brown sugar
- 1/4 tsp ground allspice
- 1/2 tsp ground nutmeg
- 1 tbsp. l banana liquor
- 1/4 Art. dark rum
- 1/2 tsp finely grated orange zest

Recipe preparation:
- Melt the butter over low heat in a thick bottom pan with a diameter of 25 cm. Add brown sugar, fragrant pepper and nutmeg. Stir until sugar dissolves. Pour in banana liquor and bring the sauce to a slow boil. Add the bananas and cook them 1 minute on each side. At this gently pour them with sauce. Transfer bananas from the pan on a serving dish.
- Bring the sauce to a slow boil and carefully pour in the rum. If the temperature is high enough, alcohol will flare up by itself to myself. If this does not happen, carefully set it on fire with using a burning torch and continue cooking until the flame does not go out (approximately 1-2 minutes). If the sauce is too much liquid, cook for another 1-2 minutes until it gains consistency of syrup.
- Add the orange zest and mix. Pour out immediately sauce with a spoon on fried bananas and serve with waffles, pancakes or ice cream.
