Homemade puffs with jam

Difficulty: Easy Quantity: 8pcs The recipes use volumetric containers with a volume of: 1 glass (st.) – 240 ml. 3/4 cup (st.) – 180 ml. 1/2 cup (Art.) – 120 ml. 1/3 cup (st.) – 80 ml. 1/4 cup (st.) – 60 ml 1 tablespoon (tbsp.) – 15 ml. 1 teaspoon (tsp) – 5 ml

Ingredients for the recipe:

  • 3/4 Art. blueberry or strawberry jam
  • 1 tbsp. l corn starch, diluted 1 tbsp. l cold water
  • 2 sheets of puff pastry, thawed
  • 1 tbsp. powdered sugar
  • 1-2 tbsp. l freshly squeezed lemon juice
  • Colored sugar, optional

Recipe preparation:

  1. Preheat the oven to 220 ° C.
  2. In a small saucepan, bring the jam to a boil over medium heat and diluted corn starch. Reduce heat and simmer on stirring slowly, 3-4 minutes. Set aside to cool room temperature.
  3. Put 1 sheet of dough on a kitchen board and cut it into 4 long narrow strips of the same size. Put in the middle the top of each piece a teaspoon with a slide of cooled jam and cover the filling with the bottom half of the dough. Seal the edges with using a small amount of water and press them with a fork. Lay out puffs on a baking sheet covered with parchment paper. Repeat that same with the second sheet of dough. Bake until golden brown about 8-10 minutes Remove the puffs from the oven and let them completely cool off.
  4. Put the icing sugar in a small bowl and mix 1/2 Art. l lemon juice, achieving a thick consistency of glaze. Sprinkle the puffs over the icing and sprinkle with colored sugar as desired. Let the glaze harden for about 30 minutes. Serve puffs, cooling to room temperature.
