French toast waffles

These French toasts, toasted in the style of Belgian waffles, will conquer you with its simplicity in preparation and excellent taste. Now you don’t have to make perfect waffles messing with the dough. Just soak slices of bun (challah or brioche perfect) with a mixture of eggs, milk and sugar and fry them in a waffle iron. You will be delighted with the luxurious waffle texture: sweet melting crumb combined with crispy crust will not leave anyone indifferent!   • 1.5 tbsp. milk
  • 3 tbsp. l Sahara
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • A pinch of salt
  • 5 large eggs
  • 4 slices 4 cm thick. Brioche or challah
  • Melted butter, for greasing the waffle iron
  • Maple Syrup, Raspberries and Powdered Sugar
  • Special equipment: waffle maker (preferably for Belgian waffles)

Recipe preparation:

  1. Heat the waffle iron to a moderate heat. Preheat the oven to 95 ° C (to keep the finished waffles warm). In a bowl or baking dish, whisk milk, sugar, vanilla, salt and eggs. Soak slices of bread in the resulting mixture 2 minutes on each side.
  2. Lightly grease the heated surface of the waffle iron with melted butter. Put the soaked bread and gently cover (do not press the lid of the waffle iron). Cook 5-6 minutes, until waffles dry out and do not get a golden hue.
  3. Put the finished wafers in the oven or on a plate, covering foil. Prepare the remaining slices the same way. Serve french toasts with maple syrup, raspberries and sugar powdery.
