Baked apples with crispy oatmeal and cinnamon

Try apple crisp in baked apples from Sunny Anderson, as an alternative to traditional casserole. She suggests not cutting apples to pieces, but just take the halves of the fruit and bake portion by filling with cinnamon and brown sugar. Ingredients for the recipe:

  • 2 apples (better than Fuji or Macintosh)
  • 1 tsp lemon juice
  • 1/4 Art. strawberry jam, jam or marmalade
  • 2 tbsp. l premium wheat flour
  • 3 tbsp. l chilled and diced creamy oils
  • 3 tbsp. l brown sugar
  • 1/2 tbsp. oat flakes oatmeal
  • 1/4 tsp ground cinnamon
  • A pinch of salt

Recipe preparation:

  1. Preheat the oven to 180C.
  2. Cut each apple in half across. Via spoons, core on each side to the result was a rounded notch. Rub an apple slice with lemon juice. Put in each recess of 1 tbsp. l jam.
  3. For sprinkling: in a small bowl, mix the flour, cream butter, brown sugar, oatmeal, cinnamon and salt. Lay out mix on top of jam for each apple and squeeze. Put in the form for baking, after pouring 0.5 cm of water into it. Bake about 35-40 minutes, until the surface is browned and apples are not will become soft.
