Bagels “Cuernitos”

Mexican Cuernitos (Spanish: Cuernitos – Short Horns) often compared to French croissants, however bagels are similar just by its form.   • 3/4 Art. water
  • 1/4 Art. margarine
  • 1/4 tsp vanilla extract
  • Sugar and cinnamon topping

Recipe preparation:

  1. In a bowl of a stationary mixer, mix flour, sugar, cinnamon and salt. Add yeast, water, margarine and vanilla. Stir 1 minute on low speed mixer with nozzle hook. Increase speed to medium and beat for another 1 minute. Cover the dough with wax paper and leave for 30 minutes.
  2. Put the dough on a surface lightly sprinkled with flour and divide it into 12 equal parts. Roll each piece to 25 see, and form a truncated triangle with a base of 15 cm. and top 5 cm. Roll each serving roll, starting from the base 15 cm. Gently shape them into a crescent moon and lay on greased baking sheets with a thin layer of oil.
  3. Mix 2 tbsp. l sugar and 1/4 tsp cinnamon and evenly sprinkle the dough. Cover and place in a warm place (30 ° C) without drafts for 15 minutes.
  4. Bake at 190 ° C for 15 to 18 minutes. Cool the bagels on the baking sheets by placing them on the wire rack.
