Ingredients for the recipe:

  • 1.4 kg large apricots
  • 2 tbsp. dry red wine
  • 1 tbsp. Port Ruby
  • 1/4 Art. Sahara
  • 1/4 Art. honey
  • 1 cinnamon stick
  • 1/2 tbsp. toasted almonds with cubes
  • 0.5 l vanilla ice cream to serve

Recipe preparation:

  1. Bring to a boil in a large thick-walled pan red wine, port, sugar, honey and a stick of cinnamon. Cook until sugar will not dissolve. Make a fruit knife on each apricot cross-shaped incision on one side. In a pan, bring to boiling water. Cook apricots for 30 seconds. Put a slotted spoon in a colander and peel off.
  2. In the saucepan with wine syrup, put the apricots again and add if necessary, more wine to completely cover the fruit. Cook at low boiling, covering with a lid and periodically turning over, until softness, about 15 minutes Remove from heat and arrange apricots in 4 bowls. (If desired, first cut them in half and remove bone.) Bring the broth to a boil and boil in half. Throw out the cinnamon stick. Let the syrup cool slightly. Put 1 a spoonful of ice cream for each serving of apricots and pour the broth. Sprinkle with fried sliced almonds and serve immediately.
