Thanks to pieces of chocolate, classic oatmeal cookies, Anne Burrell’s recipe sounded new. If you love dark chocolate (semisweet will do as well), add it together with walnuts to make oatmeal cookies more tasty and crispy. Although the optimal baking time is 12 minutes, a little reduce or increase it and get softer or more crispy option. Add a twist to each cookie sea salt. In recipes volumetric containers are used in volume: 1 cup (tbsp.) – 240 ml. 3/4 cups (st.) – 180 ml. 1/2 cup (tbsp.) – 120 ml. 1/3 cup (Art.) – 80 ml. 1/4 cup (st.) – 60 ml. 1 tablespoon (tbsp) – 15 ml. 1 teaspoon (tsp) – 5 ml.

- 2 tbsp. premium flour
- 1 tbsp. oatmeal
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
- 1/2 tsp coarse salt
- 1 tbsp. brown sugar
- 1/2 tbsp. granulated sugar
- 230 g unsalted butter at room temperature
- 2 eggs
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 340 g of dark chocolate, broken into pieces
- 1 tbsp. chopped walnuts
- Sea salt flakes, for decoration

Recipe preparation:
- Preheat the oven to 180C.
- In a small bowl, combine flour, oatmeal, baking powder, cinnamon and salt.
- Mix in a large bowl or bowl of a stationary mixer brown sugar, granulated sugar and butter. Using regular mixer or stationary mixer with a nozzle for shortbread dough, beat butter and sugar until the mixture turns white and will not become airy. Add eggs one at a time and beat. Add vanilla extract.
- Using a silicone paddle or mixer at low speed gradually mix the flour mixture into the butter-sugar. Knead to uniformity. Add pieces of chocolate and walnuts.
- Spread the dough with balls of 2 tbsp. l on ungreased a baking sheet. The distance between the balls should be 5 cm. Put baking sheet in the oven and bake for 12-13 minutes.
- When you get the cookies out of the oven, immediately sprinkle it several grains of sea salt. It is very important to do so long hot cookies.
- Cool the cookies for 2-3 minutes. and shift for further cooling to the grate.
