Complexity: easy Quantity: 1 cocktail Recipes use measured containers volume: 1 cup (st.) – 240 ml. 3/4 cup (st.) – 180 ml. 1/2 cups (st.) – 120 ml. 1/3 cup (st.) – 80 ml. 1/4 cup (Art.) – 60 ml. 1 tablespoon (tbsp.) – 15 ml. 1 teaspoon (tsp) – 5 ml.

Ingredients for the recipe:

  • 45 – 60 ml. dry champagne, Prosecco or other sparkling wine the fault
  • 45 ml aged rum
  • A bit of bitter tincture (better Angostura)
  • 1 handful of fresh mint leaves (approximately 1 large branch) plus some more for decoration
  • 15 ml freshly squeezed lime juice (1 lime)
  • 1 – 1.5 tsp very fine sugar or 15 ml. sugar syrup (see recipe below)
  • Ice cubes

Sugar Syrup:

  • 1 tbsp. Sahara
  • 1 tbsp. water

Recipe preparation:

  1. In a cocktail shaker, mash mint leaves with rum, juice lime, sugar syrup and tincture. Add ice, close and shake vigorously or mix until the contents of the shaker mixes and does not cool, about 30 seconds. (In general, a cocktail ready when the shaker is fogged up.) Pour the liquid into the chilled glasses for champagne, leaving ice in a shaker, and a few leaves in a glass. Add champagne almost to the brim. Decorate sprigs of mint. You can drink it.
  2. Syrup: Pour water into a small pan and place sugar. Cook over low heat, stirring until sugar is dissolved. (Or microwave.) Store in a resealable container in a refrigerator. Yield: about 1.5 tbsp.
