Mexican bread pudding

Like all bread puddings, this one is baked from stale bread, which allows thrifty housewives to give another, more sweet “life”, and at the same time pamper your household with quick dessert. Exactly the same bread puddings are popular in bakeries. Mexico, where they are baked from yesterday’s bread soaked in milk with raisins, nuts and cinnamon. Bake pudding on this the recipe, and it will turn out the same as from a bakery: delicious, fragrant, with a dense, but delicate texture that just melts in to the mouth.

  • 3 large eggs

  • 0.5 tbsp. Sahara
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 0.5 tbsp. raisins *
  • 1 cinnamon stick optional

Recipe preparation:

  1. Preheat the oven to 175 ° C. Oil a square shape for baking 20 cm in size.
  2. Put slices of bread in a large bowl and fill with milk. Give soak them for several minutes so that they become softer. (About 5 minutes) Crush the pieces with your hand or fork.
  3. Beat the eggs in a small bowl and pour into the bread mixture, then add melted butter, sugar, vanilla, cinnamon and raisins. Stir until smooth, but do not tighten mixture.
  4. Put the mixture in a greased form and smooth it with using a scapula. Break the cinnamon stick into pieces and randomly insert into the pudding. Optionally, you can add another wand. To me like it better because that’s the way bread pudding sold in my hometown. With cinnamon, bread will be nicer smell and your kitchen will be filled with wonderful baking aroma.
  5. Bake for 50-60 minutes at a temperature of 175 ° C. Check for readiness with a toothpick. Appears on the surface crisp, but inside the bread will remain soft.
  6. When you get the bread pudding out of the oven, it will look lush. Wait until it cools and chop. When he cools down, then falls a little.
  7. Serve pudding with honey or maple syrup. Can water a little fig syrup. Enjoy the pudding for a cup of coffee.

    Note

    You can also add 1/3 Art. coconut flakes or chopped pecans.
