Hokey Pokey Candy

At first I was going to say that it’s not as funny as it sounds, but then I changed my mind. Hoki Poki is a Cornish term that denote honeycombs. This porous dessert is good to eat, breaking off golden pieces or crushing in vanilla ice cream.

I included it in your menu, because this is a great gift when you go to the party. Better than flowers, because they must be put in a vase, better than chocolate, having received which people politely smile, but put in a box. And no one can resist hoki poki. The amount of ingredients that I have indicated is not very many, enough to fill a small form with a diameter of one 2 cm. and depth 6 cm. But a little more, and you will be forced to go to the dentist.

Recipe preparation:

  1. Pour sugar into a saucepan, pour syrup and mix. When put the pan on the fire, you can’t mix anymore. pan to the fire and melt the mixture first, then wait until it will become viscous, and then the boiling mass should acquire color maple syrup. It takes about 3 minutes.
  2. Remove the pan from the heat, add baking soda and watch how syrup turns into a hissing cloud of airy light gold. Immediately put the mass on a piece of parchment or oiled foil. Leave the mixture until it hardens, then break it into small sparkling pieces. Output: 2 tbsp.
