Christmas cookies “Christmas wreaths”

If at Christmas you want to decorate a table themed treat, bake this wonderful corn cookie in the form of Christmas wreaths. Knead the dough based on a mixture of wheat and corn flour, adding a few drops of anise extract, roll balls, and give them the shape of thick rings. Add wreaths structure by making cuts around the circumference of the rings. And final stroke – leaves of corn flakes. Dip them in pre beaten egg white so that the finished cookies crackle nicely.   • 0.5 tsp fine salt
  • 165 gr. butter at room temperature
  • 2/3 Art. Sahara
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/4 tsp anise extract, optional
  • 2 large eggs at room temperature

Dressing

  • 1 tbsp. corn flakes
  • Protein 1 large egg, whipped
  • Powdered Sugar

Recipe preparation:

  1. Combine wheat flour, corn flour, baking powder and salt in medium sized bowl. In another bowl, beat with a hand mixer butter until a homogeneous consistency. Add sugar to the butter, vanilla and anise extract and keep whisking until light lush mass, another about 2 minutes. Then add one egg at a time and mix for about 30 seconds. Wooden spoon or silicone with a spatula, mix the flour mixture into the oil mixture.
  2. Roll 34 balls with a diameter of 2.5 cm and weighing 20 grams from a dough. Place the balls on 2 baking sheets covered with parchment, approximately at a distance of 2.5 cm from each other.
