Recipe preparation:

  1. Lay the watermelon in one layer on a baking sheet with sides and place in freezer for about 2 hours, so that it turns into ice.
  2. Meanwhile, in a small saucepan over medium heat, heat sugar with 1/2 tbsp. water for about 5 minutes, stirring occasionally until sugar will not dissolve completely. Turn off the fire, add chopped basil and stir to rest. Completely cool at least 1 hour to room temperature.
  3. When the watermelon freezes, place half the cubes in a blender. Strain the syrup with basil here, pressing the back side wooden spoon or spatula to squeeze as much as possible aroma. Then remove the basil.
  4. Add lemon juice to the blender and mix until mass will be almost uniform, if necessary, press down with a wooden spoon or spatula. Add the remaining watermelon and continue mix until smooth.
  5. Put the mixture in a spoon in 4 short glasses (or wine glasses, optional), decorate each drink with a basil leaf.
