Berries are better to collect after the first frost, so the mountain ash will be sweeter. Homemade rowan jam is orange, fun – what you need for cold winter evenings! Before cooking berries should be soaked for a day in water, this will make mountain ash less bitter.

- Prepare the products:
- Sort the mountain ash, rinse and soak in water for a day. Change the water periodically. It is better to change it 3-4 times. So rowan will become less bitter.
- Cook sugar syrup. Sugar to take 1: 1 from the weight of mountain ash, water – 0.5: 1 by weight of mountain ash. That is, for 1 kg of mountain ash we take 1 kg of sugar and 0.5 l water.
- When the syrup boils, dip the rowan berries (water from them pre-drain). After boiling, cook for another 20 minutes. Cool and boil for another 30 minutes.
- Pour the finished jam into sterilized jars.
