Julep was originally the syrup used to dissolve the drugs was considered that in this way they are better absorbed. In the 18th century, supplemented by alcohol and mint cocktail firmly gained a reputation as a drink for wealthy people, it was served in a silver bowl and the very presence in the formulation of a large amount of ice testified to its high cost, because the content of the ice storage at that time was quite costly. In the USA, juleps were mainly cooked, based on brandy and Whiskey “Bourbon”. But after the civil war, and to this day primacy remains with Bourbon. Time:45 minutes Difficulty: easy Amount: 1 cocktail In recipes volumetric containers are used in volume: 1 cup (tbsp.) – 240 ml. 3/4 cups (st.) – 180 ml. 1/2 cup (tbsp.) – 120 ml. 1/3 cup (Art.) – 80 ml. 1/4 cup (st.) – 60 ml. 1 tablespoon (tbsp) – 15 ml. 1 teaspoon (tsp) – 5 ml.
