Ingredients for the recipe:

  • 350 gr fresh cranberries
  • 2 tsp canola oil
  • 1/4 Art. chopped shallots
  • 1 tsp chopped chili peppers serrano
  • 1 tbsp. fresh orange juice
  • 1/2 tbsp. agave syrup
  • 1 red orange
  • 1 tbsp. l chopped chilli chipotle in adobo sauce, plus 1 tsp sauce
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  • Coarse salt

Recipe preparation:

  1. Heat canola oil in a large saucepan at a moderately high the fire. Add shallots and serrano pepper and fry until soft, from 3 to 4 minutes.
  2. Add orange juice and agave syrup, bring to a boil and add cranberries. Cook at low boil until cranberries do not burst, and the sauce begins to thicken, from 6 to 7 minutes.
  3. Meanwhile, cut the top and bottom of the orange. Holding it over the bowl, cut the peel with a sharp knife, then cut the flesh between membranes, letting it fall into a bowl.
  4. Add orange pulp and juice, pepper to cranberry sauce chipotle with adobo sauce, cinnamon and 1/2 tsp. salt. Reduce the fire and cook, stirring occasionally until the sauce becomes thick, about 20 minutes.
