Difficulty: Easy Servings: 6 The recipes use measuring containers with a volume of: one cup (st.) – 240 ml. 3/4 cup (st.) – 180 ml. 1/2 cup (st.) – 120 ml 1/3 cup (st.) – 80 ml. 1/4 cup (st.) – 60 ml. 1tablespoon (tbsp.) – 15 ml. 1 teaspoon (tsp) – 5 ml.

Ingredients for the recipe:

  • 1 liter sparkling water
  • 1 tbsp. peeled and chopped fresh ginger (about 170 ml.)
  • 1 tbsp. sugar turbinado
  • 4 berries of allspice
  • 2 carnations
  • 1 tbsp. l chopped candied ginger (candied fruit)
  • 2 tbsp. l freshly squeezed lime juice, optional

Recipe preparation:

  1. In a medium saucepan, combine ginger, sugar, allspice, cloves, crystallized ginger and 2 tbsp. water. Bring to boiling. Remove from heat, cover and let stand for 45 minutes. Prepare a large bowl by placing it in an ice pot. Strain the ginger syrup in a bowl, squeeze all the liquid from the ginger. Cool to room temperature.
  2. Stir ginger syrup in a jar before serving. sparkling water. Add lime juice if necessary. Serve ginger beer with ice. Note: Ginger syrup can be stored in refrigerator for one week.
