Mint julep with nimbus pani

Two incredibly invigorating and refreshing met in this cocktail. drink: American mint julep based on bourbon, sugar and peppermint and traditional Indian soft “lemonade” – nimbus pani, which is made from water, lime juice or lemon, sugar and salt. The combination of lime and mint flavors organically complement the tart bourbon with a salty-sweet notes. The drink is best served with a lot of ice in a silver julep glass that keeps cold for a long time. Recipes use measuring containers. volume: 1 cup (st.) – 240 ml. 3/4 cup (st.) – 180 ml. 1/2 cups (st.) – 120 ml. 1/3 cup (st.) – 80 ml. 1/4 cup (Art.) – 60 ml. 1 tablespoon (tbsp.) – 15 ml. 1 teaspoon (tsp) – 5 ml.

Ingredients for the recipe:

  • 0.5 tbsp. Sahara
  • 3/4 tsp Indian black salt “kala namak”
  • Half a bunch of fresh mint leaves and a little more to crush and 1 twig for decoration
  • 2 juicy limes
  • Crushed or planed ice
  • 60 ml. bourbon
  • Mineral water with gas

Recipe preparation:

  1. In a small saucepan, mix 0.5 tbsp. water, sugar, black salt and mint. Heat over medium heat until sugar and salt will not dissolve. Strain the syrup and refrigerate for cooling. Throw out the mint leaves.
  2. Squeeze 2 limes in a jug and add chilled sugar syrup.
  3. Rub a few mint leaves into a paste at the bottom of the special 240 ml julep glasses. Half fill it with ice. Add 60 ml. sugar syrup and bourbon. Complete the glass mineral water. Stir until a silver glass outside covered with hoarfrost.
  4. Serve the julep with a sprig of mint. Remaining syrup use later in the preparation of drinks.
