Mediterranean spinach meatballs

A great way to feed spinach to those who don’t like it, especially children – prepare mitballs. These meat balls are literally stuffed greens, but the finicky of this will not even notice, since useful mitballs served in a pita pocket with chopped tomatoes, shredded salad and watered with mouth-watering yogurt sauce with dill. From such an appetizer, similar to fast food, few will refuse. It turns out to be very satisfying and tasty, and at the same time useful, because mitballs are made from diet turkey meat and thanks to spinach enriched with fiber. Ingredients for the recipe:

  • 450 gr minced turkey fat content of 20%
  • 2 tbsp. frozen spinach (300 gr.)
  • 1/4 Art. breadcrumbs
  • 2 tsp ground zira
  • 2 cloves, minced garlic
  • 1 medium carrot, grated
  • 1 large egg
  • 2 tbsp. l fresh dill chopped
  • 1 tbsp. greasy greek yogurt
  • Juice of half a lemon
  • 3 pits with pockets, cut in half and heated
  • 2 tbsp. chopped lettuce romano
  • 2 tomatoes Cream, chopped

Recipe preparation:

  1. Preheat the oven to 230 ° C. Cover the pan with parchment and sprinkle with a cooking spray.
  2. In a large bowl in the microwave, boil the spinach in according to the instructions on the package. Allow to cool slightly.
  3. Add turkey mincemeat, breadcrumbs, zira, to spinach garlic, carrots, egg, 1 tbsp. l dill, 0.5 tsp salt and a little black pepper. Mix everything with your hands. Lay out slides of meat mixture (about 2 tbsp. l. each) on a prepared baking sheet.
  4. Form balls with wet hands and spread them evenly on nasty. Bake until cooked for 12-14 minutes.
  5. Meanwhile, in a small bowl, mix yogurt, lemon juice and the remaining dill. Salt and pepper to taste.
  6. Serve 3 mitballs in each pita pocket. Add to shredded salad and chopped tomatoes. Pour over yogurt the sauce.
