Hot Toddy with Ginger

Ingredients for the recipe:

Cocktail

  • 120 – 180 ml. first-class bourbon
  • 60 gr honey
  • 30 ml ginger syrup recipe see below
  • 30 ml freshly squeezed lemon juice

Ginger Syrup

  • 1 lemon
  • 2 tbsp. coarsely chopped ginger with peel, about 240 column
  • 1 tbsp. Sahara

Recipe preparation:

  1. In a small saucepan, heat whiskey, honey, ginger syrup and lemon juice until the honey dissolves and the liquid becomes hot, but do not boil. Pour into a large snifter glass or a mug. Serve.
  2. Ginger Syrup:

    Using a peeler, cut the peel off the lemon. Put ginger and peel the lemon into a food processor and chop.

  3. Transfer the lemon-ginger mixture to a medium-sized pot, add sugar and 2 tbsp. water and bring to a boil. Turn down the fire and simmer, partially lid, for 15 minutes. Strain the syrup and cool. Cover and store in fridge for a week.
