Draniki on sour cream: a video recipe

A traditional dish of Belarusian cuisine according to my grandmother’s recipe. Tasty “Draniki” or “Potato pancakes” are great for dinner as stand alone dish or as a side dish. Cook them at home not at all difficult.

  1. Wash and peel the potatoes.
  2. Grate potatoes on the large side of the grater.
  3. Shredded potatoes are transferred to a sieve or colander, squeezed all juice from it.
  4. In a large bowl, mix our potatoes, salt, flour and sour cream.
  5. Spread potato pancakes on a well-heated pan with sufficient amount of oil.
  6. We fry on each side for 3 minutes over medium heat.
  7. We transfer ready-made potato pancakes to paper from the pan towels to drain fat.
  8. Serve with sour cream or herbs – optional.
