Ingredients for the recipe:

  • 450 gr tomato, cut into slices 0.5 cm thick.
  • 1.5 tbsp. vodka
  • Salt
  • 16 pcs. small-fruited tomato varieties such as: Cherry or grape
  • 2 tbsp. balsamic vinegar
  • 1/2 bunch of basil
  • 8 small balls of Bocconchini mozzarella cheese

Recipe preparation:

  1. Prepare tomato vodka: place chopped tomatoes in a deep bowl, pour vodka and add a pinch of salt. Leave vodka with tomatoes to infuse at room temperature in for 6 to 12 hours. Then strain the vodka into another container and cool before serving.
  2. Meanwhile, pickle the tomatoes: pierce the tomatoes with a skewer, place in a bowl and pour balsamic vinegar. Leave to marinate at room temperature for 4 hours.
  3. Make balsamic syrup: pour balsamic vinegar in a saucepan and bring to a boil. Reduce temperature to low and cook until thick, about 20 min., then cool.
  4. To make a cocktail: pour into a chilled glass for martini is a little balsamic syrup. Place in Shaker 2 – 3 basil leaf, add 50 ml. tomato vodka and 1 glass of ice. Shake the shaker and strain the cocktail into a glass. Put on a skewer 2 pickled tomatoes, 2 basil leaves and a scoop of mozzarella, decorate a cocktail.
