Bolognese sauce with minced meat

What first comes to mind when it comes to Italian cuisine? Most likely pizza, pasta and maybe lasagna. And of course the most traditional sauce – bolognese. Ingredients for the recipe:

  • 450 gr ground beef from the shoulder portion
  • 1/4 Art. olive oil
  • 1 medium onion, coarsely chopped
  • 2 garlic cloves, peel and chop coarsely
  • 1 stalk of celery, coarsely chopped
  • 1 carrot, coarsely chopped
  • 1 can (800 gr.) Mashed tomatoes
  • 1/4 Art. chopped parsley
  • 8 basil leaves, cut
  • 1/4 Art. grated cheese Pecorino Romano

Recipe preparation:

  1. Heat olive oil in a large skillet. When is it almost start to fade, add onion, garlic and passer on medium heat for about 8 minutes, until the onion is very soft. Pour in celery and carrots and passer 5 minutes.
  2. Increase the heat to high and add ground beef. Fry occasionally stirring and breaking large lumps, cook until the meat is no longer pink, about 10 minutes.
  3. Add tomatoes, parsley and basil and cook on medium-low fire until the sauce thickens. Season with salt and pepper.
