- 225 gr. ground beef (with a little fat)
- 1/3 Art. rekayto (cilantro-based sauce, also known as Sofrito)
- 1/2 tbsp. small spanish olives stuffed with pepper pimento
- 2 peeled and crushed fresh cloves of garlic
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp ground black pepper
- 3/4 Art. tomato sauce
- 1 tbsp. l dried oregano
- 2 tbsp. l canola or vegetable oil

Recipe preparation:
- For Piccadillo: In a medium-sized heavy frying pan on moderately high heat heat oil. Put the ground beef and stir 3-5 minutes until beef turns brown and pink.
- Add rekayto and mix. Reduce the heat to medium add garlic, salt and pepper. Put the tomato paste, oregano and olives. Stew for 10 – 15 minutes. Store in the fridge. Culinary advice: This dish may seem for someone a little salty, but combined with sweet plantans as a filling for the cake, its taste becomes excellent balanced. If you use it in another dish, you can change the amount of salt.
