Portuguese boiled rice with tomatoes – a detailed recipe cooking. Time: 40 min Difficulty: easy Servings: 6 – 8 The recipes use dimensional capacity: 1 cup (tbsp.) – 240 ml. 3/4 cup (st.) – 180 ml 1/2 cup (tbsp.) – 120 ml. 1/3 cup (st.) – 80 ml. 1/4 cups (st.) – 60 ml. 1 tablespoon (tbsp.) – 15 ml. 1 teahouse spoon (tsp) – 5 ml.
Ingredients for the recipe:
- 1.5 tbsp. long grain white rice
- 1.5 tbsp. chopped tomatoes
- 1/4 Art. olive oil
- 1.5 tbsp. finely chopped onions
- 2 tsp chopped garlic
- 1.5 tsp salt
- 1/8 – 1/4 tsp crushed red pepper flakes
- 1 bay leaf
- 2 and 1/4 Art. water
- 2 tbsp. l chopped fresh parsley leaves
- 2 tbsp. l chopped fresh cilantro leaves

Recipe preparation:
- In a medium-sized saucepan of 4 liters. over high heat heat oil. Put onion and fry, stirring, until soft, 4 minutes Add garlic, salt, red pepper, bay leaf and cook, stirring, a minute. Add the tomatoes and cook, stirring occasionally until they begin to soften, about 2 мин. Add water, parsley, cilantro and bring to a boil.
- Pour rice and mix well. When the liquid starts again boil, stir again, then cover the pan with a lid and reduce the heat to low. Cook rice without stirring for 20 minutes. until the liquid is absorbed and the rice is soft. Leave the rice on 5 minutes, then stir with a fork. Serve right away.
