Pork with sauerkraut in the oven

Stunningly aromatic and tasty pork is obtained if it cook at home in the oven on a “pillow” of sauerkraut with spices. The meat is soaked in cabbage juices and acquires a wonderful sour taste. You can make such a traditional German dish for a beer party with friends.

  1. Squash the sauerkraut and put it in the pan, which suitable for the oven. If the cabbage is too sour, then fill water and squeeze. Add ground cumin to the cabbage (1 tsp), pepper, sugar, bay leaf, grated carrots, chopped onions and well mix.

  2. Wash and dry the pork fillet with paper towels. Cut the prepared fillet into 5 pieces, sprinkle with salt, caraway seeds, pepper and spread on cabbage.

  3. Lubricate the pork with mayonnaise, cover the pan with a lid and send to a preheated oven at 200 degrees for 2 hours. For 20 minutes until ready, remove the lid and bake to pieces pork covered with a golden brown.

  4. Spread the finished flavored pork with cabbage on serving dish and serve with mashed potatoes and fresh vegetables. Cabbage can be supplemented with any herbs to taste, and meat can pre-marinate in garlic, spices and mayonnaise.
